Loyal Couriers
An open jewellery box with a watch, a bracelet and a pair of earrings, held up in the airport terminal after collection.

Case story ·

A jewellery box left at an Istanbul Airport checkpoint, handed to a friend in the city

Left at an X-ray checkpoint, held by the airport’s lost-property office, and handed to a friend in Istanbul rather than shipped abroad. What happened, and what it shows about choosing between a local handover and an international return.

What happened

A traveller left a jewellery box at an X-ray security checkpoint inside Istanbul Airport. The box held a watch, a pair of earrings and several bracelets. Airport staff found it and passed it to the terminal’s lost-property office, which is where items found around the security lanes generally end up.

By the time she realised, she had already left Türkiye. She contacted us to arrange the collection.

What we did

Once the lost-property office had confirmed it held the box and what it needed before release, we attended and collected it, then checked the contents against her description.

The obvious next step was an international shipment. Instead, she chose a faster and simpler one: she had a friend in Istanbul, so one of our couriers delivered the box to that friend by hand. The handover was completed the same way we confirm every stage — in writing, with the recipient agreed beforehand.
