Lost and found support in Bodrum

Bodrum is a peninsula, not a town. Yalıkavak, Türkbükü, Turgutreis and Gümüşlük are each their own place, the airport is in Milas on the mainland, and a large share of what goes missing here was left on a boat. Which of those applies decides how a case starts.

Where we can collect in Bodrum

Milas-Bodrum Airport

The terminal’s lost-property office and the airline desks, once they have confirmed your item and set out what they need before release. The airport is in Milas, roughly an hour from Bodrum town by road.

Marinas, gulets and charter yachts

Bodrum, Yalıkavak and Turgutreis marinas, and the gulets that leave Bodrum harbour for the Blue Cruise. The item stays with the vessel, so where the vessel is now comes first.

Hotels, beach resorts and villas

Front desks and housekeeping at resorts around the peninsula, and the host or management company of a villa let by the week.

Beach clubs and summer venues

The peninsula’s beach clubs, restaurants and event venues holding a confirmed item — many run only for the season, which matters after October.

Car rental desks

Rentals returned at the airport or at a branch in Bodrum town, Gümbet or Turgutreis.

Other approved collection points

Dive centres, ferry offices, shops and other places on the peninsula holding a confirmed item.

Listing a collection point is not a claim of affiliation with it. Every collection depends on that venue’s own release requirements, which differ and are checked case by case. We can only attend a point that has agreed to release the item to an authorised courier.

Returned to their owners

Real returns: items our team collected and handed back, photographed at the point of handover.

How a collection in Bodrum works

  1. 01

The venue confirms it holds your item

This has to come from you first. Message the hotel, the charter company or the airport lost-property office and ask for written confirmation with a reference. For a boat, ask the company rather than the harbour — captains change, the company does not.

  2. 02

    You send us the details

What the item is, who is holding it, when you left, the reference they gave you, and the address it should go to. We verify those details with the venue.

  3. 03

We pin down where on the peninsula it is

Bodrum town to Turgutreis is a real drive, and a gulet may be in a different marina from the one you boarded at. We confirm a place and a time before anyone sets off.

  4. 04

    Authorisation for collection

Most venues release an item only to an authorised representative, usually against a written authorisation naming the courier. We ask what they require and confirm with you whether it can be met.

  5. 05

Collection, packing and a written quote

Once release is authorised our courier attends and receives the item. We review its suitability for shipping, choose packing, and confirm the price with you in writing before it is dispatched.

  6. 06

    Return, usually across a border

We book the return with a carrier and pass on whatever tracking that carrier issues, then confirm each step in writing until the item is back with you.

Districts we collect from in Bodrum

Bodrum town and Gümbet

The harbour, the castle, the cruise quay and the busiest hotels. Most airport transfers end here, and most gulets leave from here. Districts: Bodrum centre, Gümbet, Bitez, Ortakent.

The north coast

Yalıkavak’s marina and Türkbükü’s beach clubs draw a different kind of lost item — a watch or a piece of jewellery more often than a backpack. Districts: Yalıkavak, Göltürkbükü, Gündoğan, Torba.

The western tip

Turgutreis has its own marina and the ferries to Kos; Gümüşlük is a village of restaurants on the water. Districts: Turgutreis, Gümüşlük, Akyarlar.

Milas and the airport

The terminal, and the towns behind it on the mainland side. Districts: Milas, Güllük.

Before you contact us

Nothing can start until someone has confirmed they hold your item. On the peninsula that someone is often not obvious: the hotel, the beach club, the boat, the transfer company or the rental desk are five different offices.

  • Message the property or operator directly rather than the booking site.
  • For an item left on a gulet or a charter, contact the company that sold the trip and ask where the vessel is now.
  • Ask them to confirm in writing that the item is held, and to describe it.
  • Ask whether they will release it to an authorised courier.

We do not search for missing items, and we cannot ask a venue to look on your behalf.

Gulets, charters and the Blue Cruise

Bodrum harbour is where many Blue Cruises begin, and a gulet is the one collection point that moves. An item left in a cabin travels with the boat: by the time you write to us it may be in Yalıkavak, in Marmaris, out on the next charter, or hauled out for the winter.

We ask the operator to confirm where the boat will be and when someone will be aboard, and we agree that window with you before attending. It is the main reason a Bodrum case can take longer to start than an airport one.

We do not board a vessel or collect from one without the operator’s agreement.

Ferries to Kos, and items that have left the country

Bodrum and Turgutreis run ferries to Kos. An item left aboard may be held by the ferry company at either end of the crossing. If it is being held on the Turkish side we can collect it once the company confirms; if it has ended up in Greece we cannot — our couriers operate in Türkiye only — and we will tell you that straight away rather than open a case.

The season, and what closes

From late October much of the peninsula shuts: beach clubs close, charter crews go home and villa agencies reduce to a phone that is answered when it is answered. Reaching the right person can take considerably longer than in July.

That changes how long the first step takes, not what we do. Contacting the venue early makes a real difference — some hold found items only for a limited period.

We do not guarantee a timeframe. We tell you what stage your case has reached rather than estimating.

What it costs

Our rates are published in full on the services page: collection is €60–€130, packing €5–€20, and there is a €60 minimum service fee. Where a Bodrum case lands depends on what the item is, where on the peninsula it is held, the packing it needs and where it is going — a marina in Bodrum town and a villa in Gümüşlük are different journeys from the airport.

We confirm the price with you in writing before anything is collected. If a collection turns out not to be possible, there is nothing to pay for it.

Bodrum questions

Usually yes, once the charter company confirms it has the item and tells us where the boat will be and when someone will be aboard. That step comes before we send anyone, because the vessel has probably moved since your trip.

Who we are, and who we are not

Loyal Couriers is an independent service operating in Türkiye. We are not an airport, airline, hotel, marina, charter operator, ferry company, booking platform or official lost-property authority, and we hold no official affiliation with any of them. We act only once the venue holding your item has confirmed it and agreed to release it to an authorised courier.
