Lost and found support in Ankara
Ankara is a working city rather than a holiday one, and its cases reflect that: a laptop bag left in a conference room, a passport folder at a hotel front desk, a suitcase that stayed on a coach. Most of these end with a return inside Türkiye rather than a flight home.
Where we can collect in Ankara
Esenboğa Airport
The terminal’s lost-property office and airline desks in Çubuk, once they have confirmed your item and set out what they need before release.
Business hotels and conference venues
Meeting rooms, front desks and housekeeping stores at the hotels and congress venues around Çankaya, Kavaklıdere and the ministries.
Coach companies at the intercity terminal
An item left on a coach is normally held by that company’s own office, not by the terminal building — which is why the first question is always which company you travelled with.
Rail stations
Items handed in at a station or on a train, held by the operator’s lost-property desk on its own terms.
Car rental desks
Items left in a vehicle returned to a rental desk, branch or depot in the city or at the airport.
Other approved collection points
Universities, museums, offices, restaurants and other places in the province holding a confirmed item.
Listing a collection point is not a claim of affiliation with it. Every collection depends on that venue’s own release requirements, which differ and are checked case by case. We can only attend a point that has agreed to release the item to an authorised courier.
Returned to their owners
Real returns: items our team collected and handed back, photographed at the point of handover.
How a collection in Ankara works
- 01
The venue confirms it holds your item
This has to come from you first. Contact the hotel, the venue, the coach company or the airport lost-property office directly and ask them to confirm in writing, along with any reference number.
- 02
You send us the details
Which venue is holding it, what the item is, when it was left, the reference they gave you, and where it should be returned to. We verify those details with the venue.
- 03
Authorisation for collection
Most collection points release an item only to an authorised representative, usually against a written authorisation naming the courier. Offices inside a secured building often add their own entry requirements, which we check before attending.
- 04
Our courier collects locally
Once release is authorised, our courier attends the approved collection point in Ankara and receives the item.
- 05
Packing, quote and dispatch
We review the item’s suitability for shipping, choose appropriate packing and confirm the price with you in writing. Nothing is dispatched before you have agreed it.
- 06
Return and updates
We book the return with a carrier, pass on whatever tracking that carrier issues, and confirm each next step in writing until the item is back with you.
Districts we collect from in Ankara
Central Ankara
Nearly every case we are asked about is here: the hotels, the ministries, the universities, the intercity coach terminal and the main station all sit inside these districts. Districts: Altındağ, Çankaya, Etimesgut, Gölbaşı, Keçiören, Mamak, Pursaklar, Sincan, Yenimahalle.
The airport and the north
Esenboğa is in Çubuk, roughly half an hour north of the centre. An item left on a flight or in the terminal stays up here until the office releases it. Districts: Akyurt, Çubuk, Kahramankazan, Kalecik, Kızılcahamam, Çamlıdere.
Outer districts
Less common, but the same process applies once a venue there has confirmed it holds the item. Some of these are a long drive from the centre, which shows up in the quote rather than in whether we can go. Districts: Ayaş, Bala, Beypazarı, Elmadağ, Evren, Güdül, Haymana, Nallıhan, Polatlı, Şereflikoçhisar.
Before you contact us
Nothing can start until a venue has confirmed it holds your item. In Ankara the hardest part is usually identifying which office that is, because a coach company, a conference centre and a hotel each keep their own store.
- For a coach journey, contact the company you travelled with rather than the terminal.
- For a conference or a meeting, ask the venue’s own operations team, not the organiser’s stand.
- Ask them to confirm in writing that the item is held, and note any reference number.
- Ask whether they will release the item to an authorised courier.
We do not search for missing items, and we cannot ask a venue to look on your behalf.
Documents, laptops and secured buildings
A large share of Ankara cases involve work equipment or documents, and some of them sit inside buildings that control who may enter and what may leave. Those rules belong to the building, not to us.
We ask what the venue requires before attending, and tell you if it cannot be met. Where an item cannot be released to a courier at all, we say so rather than making the journey.
We do not open, inspect or copy documents, and we do not publish case photographs.
Returns inside Türkiye, and abroad
Most Ankara returns are domestic, which keeps them simpler than a coastal case: no customs, and one carrier from end to end.
Where a return does cross a border, whether it is possible depends on the destination, the item, customs requirements and whether the carrier will accept it. We check that before accepting the case.
Destinations and transit times are published under international lost property shipping. What we will not promise is a delivery date: clearance at the destination is decided by its customs authority, not by us.
What it costs
Our rates are published in full on the services page: collection is €60–€130, packing €5–€20, and there is a €60 minimum service fee. Where your case lands in those ranges depends on what the item is, where in the province it is held, the packing it needs and where it is going — a collection in Çankaya and one in Beypazarı are not the same journey.
We confirm the price with you in writing before anything is collected. If a collection turns out not to be possible, there is nothing to pay for it.
Ankara questions
Who we are, and who we are not
Loyal Couriers is an independent service operating in Türkiye. We are not an airport, airline, hotel, booking platform or official lost-property authority, and we hold no official affiliation with any of them. We act only once the venue holding your item has confirmed it and agreed to release it to an authorised courier.
