Lost and found support in Mersin

Mersin has no airport of its own, so its cases start somewhere else: a hotel along the coast road, a ferry terminal, a coach company’s office, or an airport in a neighbouring province. Most of what we return from here goes to another address in Türkiye rather than abroad.

Where we can collect in Mersin

Hotels and short-stay rentals

Front desks, housekeeping stores and hosts, from city hotels to the summer properties along the coast, where they confirm they hold the item and agree to release it.

The port and ferry terminals

Passenger terminals and ferry operators, where an item is held ashore after a crossing rather than kept on board.

Coach companies

An item left on an intercity coach is normally held by that company’s own office, not by the terminal building — so the first question is which company you travelled with.

Car rental desks

Items left in a vehicle returned to a rental desk, branch or depot in the province.

Sites, venues and tour operators

Museums, historical sites, beach clubs and excursion operators that are holding an item after a visit.

Other approved collection points

Restaurants, shops, offices and other places in the province holding a confirmed item.

Listing a collection point is not a claim of affiliation with it. Every collection depends on that venue’s own release requirements, which differ and are checked case by case. We can only attend a point that has agreed to release the item to an authorised courier.

Returned to their owners

Real returns: items our team collected and handed back, photographed at the point of handover.

How a collection in Mersin works

  1. 01

The venue confirms it holds your item

This has to come from you first. Contact the hotel, the operator or the coach company directly and ask them to confirm in writing, along with any reference number.

  2. 02

    You send us the details

Which venue is holding it, what the item is, when it was left, the reference they gave you, and where it should be returned to. We verify those details with the venue.

  3. 03

    Authorisation for collection

Most collection points release an item only to an authorised representative, usually against a written authorisation naming the courier. We ask the venue what it requires and confirm with you whether it can be met.

  4. 04

    Our courier collects locally

Once release is authorised, our courier attends the approved collection point and receives the item.

  5. 05

    Packing, quote and dispatch

We review the item’s suitability for shipping, choose appropriate packing and confirm the price with you in writing. Nothing is dispatched before you have agreed it.

  6. 06

    Return and updates

We book the return with a carrier, pass on whatever tracking that carrier issues, and confirm each next step in writing until the item is back with you.

Districts we collect from in Mersin

Mersin city and the port

The city districts run together along the shore, and the port and the intercity coach terminal are both here. Most collections in the province happen inside this stretch. Districts: Akdeniz, Mezitli, Toroslar, Yenişehir.

The coast road west

Erdemli, Kızkalesi and Silifke are the summer coast, and the ferry port at Taşucu is in Silifke. The road keeps going: Anamur is several hours west of the city, which shows up in the quote rather than in whether we can go. Districts: Erdemli, Silifke, Gülnar, Aydıncık, Bozyazı, Anamur.

Tarsus and inland

Tarsus takes day visitors and sits on the route east; the mountain districts behind it are quieter. The same process applies once a venue there has confirmed it holds the item. Districts: Tarsus, Mut, Çamlıyayla.

Before you contact us

Nothing can start until a venue has confirmed it holds your item. Identifying the right office matters here, because a ferry operator, a coach company and a hotel each keep their own store.

  • Message the property or operator directly rather than the booking site.
  • For a coach journey, contact the company you travelled with rather than the terminal.
  • Ask them to confirm in writing that the item is held, and note any reference number.
  • Ask whether they will release the item to an authorised courier.

We do not search for missing items, and we cannot ask a venue to look on your behalf.

There is no airport in Mersin province

Travellers to Mersin normally fly into a neighbouring province, so an item left on a flight or in a terminal is not held here at all — it is with that airport’s lost-property office or the airline.

That is a different case from a collection in Mersin, and it is worth establishing at the start. If the item is held outside the province we tell you where to write first, and whether we can collect from there.

Items that left on a ferry

Ferries sail from the province, and an item that stayed aboard may now be held at the other end of the crossing rather than in Türkiye.

We cannot collect outside the country. Where the operator confirms the item is held ashore in Mersin province, the ordinary process applies.

Returns inside Türkiye, and abroad

Most Mersin returns are domestic, which keeps them simpler: no customs, and one carrier from end to end.

Where a return does cross a border, whether it is possible depends on the destination, the item, customs requirements and whether the carrier will accept it. We check that before accepting the case.

Destinations and transit times are published under international lost property shipping. What we will not promise is a delivery date: clearance at the destination is decided by its customs authority, not by us.

What it costs

Our rates are published in full on the services page: collection is €60–€130, packing €5–€20, and there is a €60 minimum service fee. Where your case lands in those ranges depends on what the item is, where in the province it is held, the packing it needs and where it is going — a collection in Yenişehir and one in Anamur are not the same journey.

We confirm the price with you in writing before anything is collected. If a collection turns out not to be possible, there is nothing to pay for it.

Mersin questions

That item is held by the airport you actually flew through, which is outside this province. Contact its lost-property office and the airline first; once they confirm what they hold, tell us where it is and we will say whether we can collect from there.

Who we are, and who we are not

Loyal Couriers is an independent service operating in Türkiye. We are not an airport, airline, hotel, ferry operator, booking platform or official lost-property authority, and we hold no official affiliation with any of them. We act only once the venue holding your item has confirmed it and agreed to release it to an authorised courier.
